Daniel Catalan works as a full professor at Madrid University Carlos III. He holds a BSc in Physiotherapy, a BSc in Communication, an MSc in Public Health, and two PhDs. His research focuses on mental health physiotherapy, covering eating disorders, depression, schizophrenia, and chronic pain, as well as tele-physiotherapy and health communication. He has secured over 1 million euros in research funding and supervised MSc and PhD students. Previously, Daniel worked at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, WHO’s European Regional Office, and the Spanish Ministry of Health and is currently a UN consultant for the UNHCR. He is also serving as 2nd vice-president of the Spanish Association of Physiotherapy and president of the International Organization of Physiotherapy in Mental Health, a specialty group of World Physiotherapy. He chaired the 2016 International Conference on Physiotherapy in Mental Health in Madrid and has organized multiple other national and international scientific events.
